Winter Weather in Eastern Dutchess, New York

Winter Weather February 20, 2026 – February 21, 2026 · Eastern Dutchess, New York

What the National Weather Service wrote

Zone average snowfall of 0.6 inches.

The wider storm

A low pressure system tracking through the Great Lakes lifted a series of fronts through eastern New York, resulting in widespread precipitation from Friday, February 20 through Saturday, February 21, 2026. Most of this precipitation fell in the form of snow, though some higher terrain areas received minimal accumulations of freezing rain and sleet with some lower-lying areas conversely receiving some plain rain.

The highest accumulations of snow fell across portions of the Southwest Adirondacks and Upper Hudson Valley where 6 to nearly 10 inches were measured. Elsewhere, a couple of tenths up to 5 inches were common with the highest of these reported across the Catskills, Helderbergs, and Taconics. Fortunately, freezing rain accumulations were more apparent based on radar products rather than in ground-truth observations so little in the way of impacts occurred due to ice accretion.

Key impacts: school delays and traffic accidents.
