Weed Airport RAWS reported strong south to southeast winds with peak gusts of 60 mph. High winds were also reported at Weed 3.5N with a peak gust of 60 mph, and Gazelle with a peak gust of 59 mph.
The wider storm
A rapidly deepening area of low pressure offshore combined with strong high pressure over the Great Basin brought strong south to southeast winds to the Shasta Valley in central Siskiyou County.
