The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) buoy at Rincon del San Jose recorded a gust of 36.54 knots at 8:18 PM CST from outflow associated with a decaying line of thunderstorms.

The wider storm

A small line of thunderstorms that crossed Baffin Bay weakened as it moved across the upper Laguna Madre during the evening of Valentine's Day 2026, but was able to produce a brief gale-force gust and wind shift as it crossed the land cut in Kenedy County.
