Heavy Snow in Northwest Fayette, West Virginia
Heavy Snow February 6, 2026 – February 7, 2026 · Northwest Fayette, West Virginia
The wider storm
Robust bands of snow tracked through the state of West Virginia from February 6th to the 7th, leading to snow amounts ranging from 3 to 6 inches along the mountains and 1 to 3 inches in the lower elevations. A frontal passage that occurred during this event also led to a brief stint of strong surface wind gusts ranging from 35 to 52 miles per hour. Behind the front, additional snow squalls and dangerous cold filtered into the Central Appalachians. High pressure shifting in from the west allowed for snow showers to taper off quickly after sunrise on February 7th.
