The Cape Wind anemometer at Horseshoe Shoals tower recorded a wind gust of 47 mph.

The wider storm

A cold front moved through southern New England, producing showers and thunderstorms that became severe as they moved across southeastern Massachusetts. Large hail and damaging winds affected southeast Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and the waters off the Cape. A strong microburst produced significant damage in Acushnet.
