What the National Weather Service wrote

A field fire occurred for several late day to early evening hours within most of a 313 acre area between Indiana Route 9, and County Roads 200 West, 300 North and 400 North. The fire made travel difficult on local roads but did not impact any highways. Fire fighters from multiple agencies contained the fire to where it burned itself out.

The wider storm

On April 21st, strong amplified high pressure along eastern North America promoted a robust surface gradient over Indiana, which produced southwesterly wind gusts of 25-40 mph through the afternoon to early evening. Relative humidity in the Anderson area fell to the 15-20 percent range during 1515 to 1815LT, which combined with the higher wind gusts to promoted both the ignition and maintenance of a wildfire in central Madison County.
