Gusts up to 58 mph were reported at Cheyenne County Municipal Airport just south of Saint Francis, and also four miles west-northwest of Bird City.
The wider storm
A strong cold front blasted southeast across the region, with high winds ranging from 55 mph to 76 mph in wake of the front during the nighttime hours through the day on the 15th. The highest wind gust was measured near Winona. The high winds caused blowing dust and dust storm conditions in various places across Northwest Kansas.
