Winter Weather in Southeast Randolph, West Virginia

Winter Weather March 2, 2026 – March 3, 2026 · Southeast Randolph, West Virginia

The wider storm

A passing low pressure system brought wintry precipitation to West Virginia for the start of March. While the central lowlands observed very little snow amounts due to warm ground conditions, a combination of snow and freezing rain laid along the higher terrain of the Appalachian mountains from March 2nd to March 3rd. While temperatures remained near freezing from the morning to the 2nd into the overnight hours, a steady rise on March 3rd then caused lingering precipitation to changeover to rain for the rest of the day.
