The wider storm
In the midst of record warm temperatures in the region on March 7th, a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms encroached on southeast Ohio ahead of a cold frontal passage. Storms first ventured in from the southwest into Perry County, followed by additional cells that set forth their own storm damage into the county. This resulted in downed trees in Thornville and Crooksville in addition to quarter size hail. Thunderstorm activity then tracked east of the Ohio River as they weakened during the late afternoon hours.
Began near Coolville Station (39.2200, -81.7800).
