What the National Weather Service wrote
Mesonet station FW9688 Jal measured a 59 mph wind gust associated with a convective downburst. The total time of occurrence is partially estimated.
The wider storm
A shortwave embedded in the flow aloft neared the area on the 14th. Meanwhile, mid-to-upper level moisture moved over the region. Lift from the shortwave interacted with this moisture and allowed isolated to scattered high-based showers and storms to develop across the area. Low-levels were very dry, so most rain evaporated before it hit the ground. Because of this evaporative cooling, a few showers and storms managed to produce severe downbursts. Convection largely diminished after dark.
Began near Bennett (32.0500, -103.5700).
