What the National Weather Service wrote

Wind gusts of up to 57 knots (66 MPH) were measured by a personal weather station in downtown Baltimore (KMDBALTI493) adjacent to the tidal Patapsco River between 4:34 and 4:54 PM.

The wider storm

A strong cold front ignited a band of thunderstorms. The gust front rushed out ahead of the precipitation cores, but given the steep low-level lapse rates the gusts were able to maintain gale- to even storm-force as they crossed portions of the waters late in the afternoon.

Began near Baltimore (bltm2) (39.2700, -76.5900).
