What the National Weather Service wrote

Wind gusts of up to 39 knots (45 MPH) were measured by the AWOS at Martin State Airport (KMTN) adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay between 4:46 and 5:11 PM.

The wider storm

A strong cold front ignited a band of thunderstorms. The gust front rushed out ahead of the precipitation cores, but given the steep low-level lapse rates the gusts were able to maintain gale- to even storm-force as they crossed portions of the waters late in the afternoon.

Began near Tilghman Es (tilhm) (39.3333, -76.4167).
