An ice jam on the Meduxnekeag River, around the Carys Mills Area off Porter Settlement Road. River levels crested Wednesday at noon. Police reported that river levels decreased by evening.

The wider storm

Low pressure system with an occluded front move to the northeast of Maine, bringing gusty winds and heavy rainfall to northern and eastern Maine. Rainfall resulted in significant snowmelt for remaining snow pack, and with a deep frost depth still in place over most of the state, majority of rainfall acted as runoff. Runoff and additional river ice melt led to ice jamming along the Meduxmekeag River, near Porter Settlement Road. Flooding began around midnight on Wednesday, March 18th, and continued into that night. River gauge indicated an ice jam in the Cary Mills area. Houlton police reported receding waters by that evening.

Began near New Limerick (46.1108, -67.9463).
