Drought in Southwestern St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana

Drought March 1, 2026 – March 31, 2026 · Southwestern St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana

What the National Weather Service wrote

Long term D3 drought persisted through the whole month of March for portions of Southwest St. Tammany Parish according to the US Drought Monitor.

The wider storm

Severe drought conditions (D2'D4) continued from February through the month of March across portions of the New Orleans/Baton Rouge WFO area. Those conditions were driven by persistent precipitation deficits and limited meaningful rainfall events. Although several inches of rain did fall over southeast Louisiana, most did not fall where drought conditions existed. The only appreciable change in March was an expansion of D3 to include St Tammany, southern Tangipahoa, and St James Parishes.
