What the National Weather Service wrote

A retired NWS employee reported a tree blown down onto power lines about a mile up Lick Branch Road resulting in a power outage.

The wider storm

On March 7th record-setting early March warmth in the upper 70s and low 80s primed eastern Kentucky for isolated severe weather ahead of an advancing cold front. Strong wind shear and sufficient instability supported a convective line that tracked northwest to southeast across the region during the late afternoon and evening. The primary hazard was damaging straight-line winds, which caused localized utility damage and a power outage in the Jackson area. A sharp temperature drop followed the front, ending the anomalous warmth.

Began near Quicksand (37.5278, -83.3772).
