Ascent from a 700 mb shortwave within a broad plume of 1000-1500 J/kg of MLCAPE and 30-40 knots of effective shear supported development of thunderstorms on the afternoon of 4/14. Some of those became severe with reports of hail up to ping pong ball sized and uprooted trees from strong wind.
