The wider storm

A strong trough moving into the Rockies created a long duration high wind event across most of southeast Wyoming and parts of western Nebraska. A strong sea level pressure gradient lead to strengthening winds aloft, with strong subsidence and mountain waves helping get these strong winds down to the surface.
