What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Tornado appeared to start along/west of County Road J and east of Dump Rd. Some tree damage was noted along Ollie Bell Rd along a few houses on the street. Along Penny Benton Rd, it hit 6 trees, 1 uprooted, 1 snapped at the trunk but was rotted. As it tracked east, it hit some metal farm buildings along Mullen Rd and south of Copeland Rd. Corn stubble from the field to the west was noted deposited along the farm driveway with sheet metal from the barns lofted up the hill and into the forest to the east.

The wider storm

A weak wave of low pressure along a stationary front resulted in strong to severe thunderstorms tracking east across southern WI during the late evening and overnight hours. A tornado was documented in far southwest Wisconsin with other tree damage noted due to high winds.

Began near Benton (42.5500, -90.3800).
