The wider storm

During the early morning hours of April 15th, an area of thunderstorms moved across Lake Erie and into far Western New York. The thunderstorms were associated with a weakening Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) tracking into the region from the west. The strong thunderstorms resulted in a 46 knot wind gust along the Lake Erie lakeshore near Westfield.
