Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developed to the south of a stalled boundary located across portions of Maryland and Virginia on the afternoon of April twenty-fourth. This activity gradually tracked south through the afternoon bringing strong and damaging wind gusts to portions of the northern coastal waters of Eastern North Carolina.
