The path drawn at its surveyed width of 30 yards (0.02 mi) — zoom in and the swath grows to true scale. Other tornadoes recorded nearby that day are shown faint.

What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

Numerous videos from storm chasers documented a satellite tornado partially rotating around the Braman tornado approximately 5 miles west-southwest of Braman. The path is estimated but likely occurred east of 124th Street moving southwest then southeast crossing Earth Road. If this tornado produced damage, it was indistinguishable from damage caused by the Braman tornado.

The wider storm

The first of several days of severe weather across the WFO Norman Forecast Area featured intense thunderstorms (supercells) across northern Oklahoma on the evening of the 23rd. An emerging upper trough and sharp dryline facilitated development of scattered intense supercell thunderstorms across portions of northern Oklahoma, with reports of large to very large hail, thunderstorm wind damage and several tornadoes. In addition to a family of well-documented tornadoes from east of Medford, Oklahoma (Grant County) to near Braman, Oklahoma (Kay County), a violent tornado impacted areas around Vance Air Force Base and the south/east extents of Enid, Oklahoma. This tornado prompted a rare Tornado Emergency, the first in the WFO Norman Forecast Area since May 19th, 2024.

Began near Braman (36.9000, -97.4220).
