Flood April 6, 2026 · Naguabo, Puerto Rico
Where the report was made, with tornadoes recorded within 15 miles over the years.
What the National Weather Service wrote
PR-31 near PR-53 exit 22 impassable due to Rio Blanco out of its banks. The USGS sensor reported 7.91 feet at 7:30 AM AST.
The wider storm
Mid- to upper-level short wave troughs, a jet streak near the region and above normal moisture being steered from the Caribbean resulted in moist and unstable conditions. Available moisture, diurnal heating, local sea breeze convergence, and orographic
effects all also aided in afternoon showers and t-storms. These resulted in Rio Blanco and Rio Grande rising out of their banks and resulting in River Flooding.
Began near Naguabo (18.2121, -65.7779).
