What the National Weather Service wrote

A post on social media reported that 5 head of cattle were found deceased beneath a tree that was struck by lightning in the vicinity of Orange Lake in northern Marion County late on Saturday night. Time of event based on lightning data.

The wider storm

A stalled frontal boundary north of the region, as well as Gulf Coast and Atlantic Coast sea breezes, combined with usual early summer high instability and PWATs close to 2 inches to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms across the region, as well as isolated severe downbursts. Slow storm motion attributed to localized heavy rainfall and minor flooding.

Began near Millwood (29.4200, -82.1700).
