The wider storm
Despite a large-scale ridge pattern, showers and thunderstorms developed and moved into northwest Connecticut on April 15th as a result of a stationary boundary draped near the region and a decaying MCS that moved in from the Great Lakes. In the late evening, a cluster of thunderstorms morphed into more of a linear segment which tracked through Litchfield County through just after midnight on April 16th. As a result, strong winds downed a tree onto and blocked a portion of Torringford West Road.
Began near Torringford (41.8299, -73.0913).
