Drought in Dunklin, Missouri

Drought April 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026 · Dunklin, Missouri

What the National Weather Service wrote

D2 conditions worsened to D3 mid month and persisted for the rest of April.

The wider storm

April 2026 presented a stark climate duality for the state of Missouri. While a series of heavy spring rainstorms made it one of the wettest Aprils on record for the state's midsection and northern regions'frequently delaying fieldwork for those farmers'the Missouri Bootheel completely missed out. This southeast corner of the state remained stubbornly locked in a highly regionalized, long-term moisture deficit that originally took hold during the summer of 2025. D2 conditions worsened to D3 by mid April.
