Drought in Lake, Tennessee

Drought April 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026 · Lake, Tennessee

What the National Weather Service wrote

D2 conditions worsened to D3 and persisted into May.

The wider storm

Similar to its neighbors across the Mississippi River, West Tennessee spent April 2026 battling a persistent, long-term moisture deficit dating back to July 2025. While central and northern parts of the Midwest received heavy spring rains that broke their droughts, West Tennessee experienced a highly regionalized spring recharge gap. Abnormally hot temperatures and meager rainfall caused drought conditions to actively worsen across the region during the first half of the month, though patchy late-month systems provided highly localized stabilizing relief.
