Drought in Mcnairy, Tennessee

Drought April 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026 · Mcnairy, Tennessee

What the National Weather Service wrote

D0 conditions rapidly deteriorated to D2/D3 that persisted into early May.

The wider storm

Similar to its neighbors across the Mississippi River, West Tennessee spent April 2026 battling a persistent, long-term moisture deficit dating back to July 2025. While central and northern parts of the Midwest received heavy spring rains that broke their droughts, West Tennessee experienced a highly regionalized spring recharge gap. Abnormally hot temperatures and meager rainfall caused drought conditions to actively worsen across the region during the first half of the month, though patchy late-month systems provided highly localized stabilizing relief.
