What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A National Weather Service ground survey determined that an EF-0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 80 mph occurred 2 miles north of Mountain Dale, or 4 miles north of Seymour. Both video of the tornado and the ground survey revealed an intermittent 75 yard wide path of mostly tree damage, lasting for 6 minutes and traveling one and a half miles. The most substantial damage was a tin roof blown off a barn. Track extensions are still possible with satellite data analysis.

The wider storm

Several rounds of thunderstorms occurred during the period of June 25th and June 27th as a frontal boundary remained near the area. Some areas received 3-6 inches of rainfall over a short period of time. Thunderstorms produced a few tornadoes on the evening of June 26th.

Began near Seymour Owen Fld Arp (37.2100, -92.7600).
