The wider storm
A warm and moist airmass was in place across southeast Louisiana on April 2nd, with scattered to numerous thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening hours. Storms became oriented north to south and repeatedly redeveloped while slowly shifting east across Tangipahoa Parish. This allowed heavy rainfall to fall over some of the same areas for an extended period. A stronger storm also produced localized wind damage near Tickfaw.
Began near Albany (30.5600, -90.5900).
