The wider storm

A cold front approached the region from the west on April 4th while a warm and moist airmass remained in place across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Moisture continued to increase through the day, with numerous showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of the front, especially across the western half of the forecast area. The strongest convection moved across West Feliciana Parish during the evening and produced heavy rainfall over a short period of time. While the overall severe weather threat was limited, repeated storms and locally heavy downpours led to flash flooding in parts of the parish.

Began near Hardwood (30.7900, -91.3900).
