What the National Weather Service wrote
A picture on social media showed water covering the entire roadway on Oak Cove Drive, north of Lemoyne Boulevard. Water extended well into yards with a depth estimated to be well over 1 foot.
The wider storm
A cold front approached the region from the west on April 4th and 5th while a warm and moist airmass remained in place across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Moisture continued to increase ahead of the approaching frontal boundary, which fueled the development of numerous showers and thunderstorms. The strongest convection moved across southwest Mississippi during the early morning hours of April 5th and produced heavy rainfall over a short period of time. While the overall severe weather threat was limited, repeated storms and locally heavy downpours led to flash flooding in parts of Pike County.
Began near North Biloxi Arpt (30.4419, -88.8880).
