A line of thunderstorms moved through north central and northeast South Dakota late on June 27 into the early morning of June 28, generating isolated pockets of high winds. A personal weather station in northeast Aberdeen and the South Dakota State University mesonet station seven miles south of Claremont both recorded peak wind gusts of 70 mph.
