The wider storm

During the afternoon and evening of June 2, thunderstorm development was initiated by a weak backdoor cold front moving in from the northeast. The resulting activity was primarily concentrated within and surrounding the DFW Metroplex, leading to instances of marginally severe hail and strong to severe thunderstorm wind gusts.
