Improvement to isolated D2.
The wider storm
June saw repeated episodes of heavy rainfall interrupted by periods of dangerous heat. Weekly rainfall commonly ranged from 2 to over 8 inches, with localized flooding, saturated soils, and standing water occurring throughout the month. A tropical system during the third week of June produced another round of widespread heavy rain that further improved soil moisture, replenished stock tanks, and significantly improved pasture and rangeland conditions. These wet conditions repeatedly delayed hay harvest and other field operations. Despite the abundant rainfall, temperatures frequently reached or exceeded 100F, with heat index values climbing to 105-110F in some areas. By the final week of June, the first extended dry period in a while allowed fields to begin drying and agricultural activities to resume while drought conditions remained substantially improved due to the month's persistent rainfall.
