The wider storm
Weak upper ridging persisted across the forecast area on 5/26, but seasonable instability, PWAT's near 2, and enhanced moisture convergence led to scattered thunderstorm development during the afternoon and evening hours. One isolated severe storm in Aiken County produced tree damage before training, slow moving convection produced two instances of flash flooding in Orangeburg County.
Began near Saluda (33.9974, -81.7673).
