What the National Weather Service wrote
Strong straight line winds affected a rural area of southwest Wise County, west of County Road 3355 and north of County Road 3470. A small neighborhood near Windmill Trail had damage to some roofs, garage doors and windows, as well as scattered tree damage. Across County Road 3470, additional fencing, tree and roof damage occurred along this road. The last damage was some more tree damage near the intersection of County Road 3355 and County Road 3470.
The wider storm
A shortwave trough, slow moving cold front, and continued presence of a dryline resulted in additional severe thunderstorm development on April 28 and 29. Large hail was the primary severe weather occurrence. Destructive hail damaged several locations in North and Central Texas with hail sizes ranging up to 3.5-4 inch hail in Johnson County. On April 28th 4 tornadoes occurred including an EF-3 tornado in Mineral Wells.
