What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

The County EM reported a path of damage near FM 1497 and CR 15600 in the southeast part of the county. Tree damage was observed in a twisted manner and along a convergent path, a shipping container was moved, and a boat dock was displaced out of a pond to the south along the track.

The wider storm

From April 24 to April 27, daily thunderstorms developed during the late afternoon and evening, triggered by a dryline and a meandering frontal boundary. These long-lasting supercells were fueled by a highly unstable and sheared environment, resulting in several tornadoes, damaging winds, and very large hail. Two fatalities occurred on April 25th.

Began near Rockford (33.4893, -95.4726).
