What the National Weather Service wrote

Richland County Emergency Management reported a tree fell on a residence at the 5000 block of Knightner St.

The wider storm

The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur moved into the southeastern US which led to a significant surge of moisture into the area. The air mass became highly unstable in the afternoon and evening with MLCAPE values around 2500 J/kg. While there were isolated severe storms during the afternoon, widespread storms developed along a surface trough in Georgia with strong low level convergence which led to a line that moved through the area producing damaging wind gusts during the evening.

Began near Eau Claire (34.0587, -81.0451).
