The wider storm

On the 6th afternoon to early evening, a moist column combined with dynamic lift from an approaching cool front to produce numerous to widespread training thunderstorms over northern portions of central Indiana. While most cells were generally sub-severe, isolated damaging winds were most organized in Warren County and most intense at the Muncie airport. More noteworthy was the quasi-parallel nature of the approaching boundary to the moist conveyor's axis, which produced multiple roudns of heavy rain over several zones, and considerable flash flooding in portions of Warren County and Fountain County where up to an estimated 7.00 inches of rain fell. This severe weather event would be the first of many for the month which would eventually define a formal disaster period from June 6th to the 18th which was declared by the governor of Indiana.

Began near Judyville (40.3600, -87.4000).
