Drought in Western Clay, Florida
Drought June 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026 · Western Clay, Florida
What the National Weather Service wrote
Despite some beneficial rainfall, Extreme (D3) drought conditions continued through the month of June.
The wider storm
Extreme drought (D3) and exceptional drought (D4) conditions across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia gradually improved through the month of June due to the shift to a more typical summertime sea breeze pattern bringing rainfall each day. The biggest impact was from the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur in mid-June which brought very deep tropical moisture, training storms and heavy downpours especially to southeast Georgia. 24 hour storm total rainfall amounts ranged from 2 to 10 inches from that event. This rainfall also helped the containment of local ongoing wildfires.
