The wider storm
Surface low pressure stationed across southern Ontario gradually shifted eastward throughout the afternoon hours of May 13, 2026. Some showers and thunderstorms forming ahead of a surface cold frontal passage and along the cold front was stationed in an environment of sufficient deep-layer shear along with steepening low- and mid-level lapse rates that brought a marginal wind threat during that afternoon and evening hours. This severe wind threat allowed for scattered instances of tree damage across central Pennsylvania with the most damage across the Lower Susquehanna Valley where slightly better shear and moisture was available during the evening hours.
Began near Oregon Hill (41.4788, -77.2844).
