What the National Weather Service wrote

The wider storm

A sharpening High Plains dryline in concert with a strong upper level disturbance approaching from the southwest spawned scattered thunderstorms across northeast Colorado during the late afternoon and evening hours on the 30th. Thunderstorms moved north to slightly northwest. Hail up to ping-pong ball size was measured in Yuma County. A tornado was reported north of Eckley, but caused no damage. Further south winds from thunderstorms to the west of Yuma County caused a dust storm southwest of Vernon toward the state line.
