Non-thunderstorm wind damage snapped a power pole near New Hope Road.

The wider storm

A cold front moved through the area Friday the 29th, bringing scattered showers during the afternoon and evening as it tracked south across the region. Even with limited instability, strong shear supported a few thunderstorms, mainly across the Mohawk Valley and Tug Hill Plateau. The tightening pressure gradient along and behind the front also produced widespread gusty winds of 30-40 mph, especially across the higher elevations.

Began near New Hope (42.7979, -76.3485).
