The wider storm

Showers and thunderstorms initially developed off the higher terrain in west Texas and southeast New Mexico during the afternoon of June 2nd. Later that evening, storms coalesced into a line behind an outflow boundary, which moved out of southeast New Mexico and into the Permian Basin. Severe winds accompanied this line as it moved across SE New Mexico and the western Basin. Heavy rainfall also led to instances of flash flooding through the morning of the 3rd before the line fully dissipated.

Began near Carlsbad (32.4300, -104.2400).
