The wider storm

During the early morning hours of June 2, 2026, scattered, pulse-type thunderstorms developed and hail and heavy rainfall to portions of southeast Nebraska. Based on radar analysis, the most intense hail core tracked directly over Lincoln, Nebraska, resulting in a public report of quarter-size (1.00 inch) hail. In addition to the hail threat, these thunderstorms were highly efficient rainfall producers. The combination of intense rainfall rates and slow storm motions allowed a quick 2 to 3 inches of rain to accumulate across localized areas of southeast Nebraska.

Began near Davey (41.0300, -96.5900).
