The wider storm

A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms progressed southeast into portions of extreme Northeast Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and North Louisiana during the afternoon hours of May 19th, ahead of a weak cold front that became stationary over Southern Oklahoma and portions of North Texas. Storm organization persisted southeast of the front across portions of Northeast Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and into portions of Northwest Louisiana, where modest instability and an attendant gust front ahead of the storms focused renewed development within a moist and unstable air mass. As a result, a few of these storms became strong/severe across portions of Southwest Arkansas, and again in Bienville Parish in Northwest Louisiana, where several trees were downed southwest of the Mount Lebanon community. These storms weakened further by late afternoon/early evening as they exited the area.

Began near Pleasant Hill (32.4625, -93.0878).
