The wider storm
An outflow boundary coming from a line of thunderstorms located to the northwest of Eastern North Carolina tracked southeastwards and entered into the Albemarle Sound during the late evening hours of June twelfth. As this occurred, showers and thunderstorms developed and strengthened along this boundary as it continued southeastwards into the morning hours of June thirteenth with a few of these storms becoming strong in nature. This brought strong wind gusts to portions of the Albemarle Sound southeastwards to the Pamlico Sound and coastal waters near Oregon Inlet.
Began near Alligator River Bridge (35.9000, -76.0000).
