The wider storm
On June 10th, an inverted trough over the Atlantic Ocean waters adjacent to the northeast Florida and southeast Georgia waters developed coastal showers that moved onshore in the overnight into morning hours. Showers interacted with the land breeze creating a convergent line of heavy showers that caused flooding along the coast. Moist west-southwest flow then developed resulting in typical summertime sea breeze thunderstorms each afternoon into evening for the next several days. The strongest storms were along the sea breeze collisions near HWY 301 and U.S. Route 23.
Began near Pyles Marsh (31.1500, -81.5800).
