The wider storm

Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms produced heavy rain across parts of central Illinois from the evening of June 10th into the pre-dawn hours of June 11th. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches were common, with some locations exceeding 3.50. Excessive rainfall rates associated with strong to severe thunderstorms during the evening of June 10th resulted in scattered instances of flash flooding across Knox, Peoria, Tazewell, McLean, and Sangamon counties. In addition, sharp rises on area creeks and streams led to overland flooding in a few spots...most notably on the north side of Lexington in McLean County. The flood waters gradually receded after sunrise on June 11th.

Began near Henderson Grove (41.0017, -90.4451).
