The wider storm

On the afternoon of the 29th, a dryline moving eastward stalled out around the Interstate 27/US Highway 87 corridor. Strong heating along the boundary created an unstable atmosphere and storms were able to form. A lack of deep layer shear kept storms from becoming organized and led to pulse type thunderstorms. However, one storm did produce a severe wind gust near Floydada (Floyd County).

Began near Floydada (33.9934, -101.3233).
